Authors Note- This is the creative writing piece, also I am focusing on working on voice in the piece.
Dear IOC,
My name is Jacob Raschka. I am a young wrestler that is wanting to win gold in the Olympics some day. But that dream is gone due to the decision you made. Cutting wrestling may be the worst decision ever in Olympic history. It is one of the oldest sports in the Olympics. Ever since the Olympics started, wrestling has been a sport. The Olympics are the pinnacle of wrestling; a gold medal in the Olympics is the highest thing you can achieve in wrestling. There is a world series for baseball and super bowl for football but it Is the Olympics for wrestling, now that you cut the sport many people live for it is going to hurt. Everything about the sport I love. Once college is over there are no more things that people can do. Colleges will see this and loose interest in the sport and not fund it as much because there is no more next step that baseball or basketball have, witch is the pro league. Then high schools and schools will see this and cut wrestling because of colleges losing interest in the sport. However the biggest reason not to cut wrestling is the kids that have the dream and the inspiration to win a GOLD medal in the Olympics someday. I remember this clearly in my mind the time I saw the 2008 Olympic games and Henry Cujudo won his gold medal, and from that moment on I wanted to win a Olympic gold medal someday. Millions of kids are going to lose the inspiration to be a Olympic champ in the future. I know the IOC will look back and know they made a wrong choice and bring back the sport that I love.
Thanks, Jacob Raschka
