The Furnace
Have you ever been accused of something you didn’t do? Well
Alex was framed of a murder of his friend Toby. He was sentenced to the furnace
penalty a brutal prison mile into the earth with the toughest gangs and people
who were real killers. Lockdown a novel written by Alexander Gordan Smith will
put thoughts of prison in your mind you have never had before.
In the book the main
character Alex is nothing like me in many ways. Alex was a bully to kids in his
school and I don’t bully kids in my school. I have never robbed a house or
store but Alex has with his friends he has broken in to houses and stores,
which is something I will never do in my life. But the last and biggest thing
about our differences is that I have never been framed of murder, Alex was set
up and framed of killing his friend and sent to the furnace.
After all the things Alex and I are not alike there are a
couple things about us that are the same. Like we are the same age he is a
thirteen year old going to a middle school. We are both in seventh grade with
friends and a family. Alex has a sister that is younger than him; I have a
younger sister. Out of all the things we don’t have in common we have a few
things that we are alike.
In the book Lockdown it will really put thoughts that you
have never had before. But throughout the book Alex will keep fighting to get
out and free.
